My husband and I believe strongly in date nights.
We have been on a pretty strict budget since we got married and now even more so while living on the mission field. This means sometimes we have to get creative with date nights!
There is something so special about setting aside time for just the two of you and saying “hey, I still choose you”. Choosing each other over staying late at the office, going to bed early, going out with friends, watching the game, etc. seems to get even more important the longer you’re married. Of course you have to tailor this to your season of life, your budget, and your relationship. We don’t have littles just yet, so we don’t have to schedule around babysitters and bedtimes. We live in a really small city, so our options are pretty limited for things to do without driving an hour or two. Our work schedule is pretty chaotic with events and mission teams, but it’s also super flexible. It really doesn’t matter how you do it or when you do it, what matters most is that you date your spouse!!
There’s something extra romantic about summer, so I’m throwing together some of my favorite summer date nights for those of us balling on a budget. Click the photo below to print these sheets and cut the date night cards out. Then you can drop them in a jar and randomly pull one out on date nights!
